Carne (Hackett)

Overview: The wildest links of them all. Located in remote Belmullet, the dunes here are mountainous, towering 150 meters above sea level. It was Eddie Hackett's final design and is considered his masterpiece of natural routing.

Did You Know? The construction budget was tiny, so Hackett built the course with almost no earthmoving equipment. He simply found the fairways and greens among the dunes. An additional 9 holes (the Kilmore) were added later, creating a 27-hole complex.
