Overview: Carya Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 heathland course in Belek, Antalya, inspired by the classic inland courses of Surrey. Thomson Perrett and Lobb designed the layout through pine forest and sandy heathland, with rolling fairways, heather, 75 bunkers and four lakes affecting seven holes. The official course information records approximately 7,186 yards and an area of about 104 hectares. The wide setting can look generous from the tee, but the heathland edges, shaped landing zones and small strategic targets ask for more thought than the resort surroundings might suggest.
History: Construction began in August 2007, planting started in April 2008 and the course opened in November 2008. It was developed as part of the Regnum golf group and quickly became one of Belek's signature venues. The design team drew on the visual language of Wentworth, Sunningdale, Walton Heath and Swinley Forest, translating that English heathland idea into a pine-covered Mediterranean site. Carya later hosted the Turkish Airlines Open on the European Tour from 2016 through 2018, giving the course a prominent tournament chapter soon after its creation.
Did You Know? Carya was the first course in Europe to install floodlights across all 18 holes. The system is positioned high enough for players to follow the ball's flight much as they would in daylight, turning the course into a genuine day-and-night experience rather than simply lighting a short practice loop. Night golf has become one of Carya's defining ideas and a direct extension of its resort identity.
