Golfclub de Dommel - Course A

Overview: Course A represents the historic nine-hole Colt routing at Golfclub De Dommel in Sint-Michielsgestel. The holes run through the Zegenwerp estate, where heath, sandy ground, mature oaks and beech avenues create a setting that feels shaped by the land rather than placed on top of it. Its compact par-35 scale does not make it simple: the interest comes from angles, changes of ground and the way Colt used existing landscape features to frame greens and approaches. In the modern club routing, these original holes retain the course’s oldest architectural voice.

History: De Dommel was founded in 1928 on the initiative of C.G.J. van Lanschot. A nine-hole course designed by Harry Colt was laid out in 1929 and officially opened in September 1930. John S.F. Morrison proposed changes in 1957, and Frank Pennink prepared later bunker and lengthening work in the 1970s. Expansion eventually brought the club to 18 holes in 2014, but the original Colt nine remains the historic core represented by this Course A profile.

Did You Know? The original nine holes are now played as holes 10 through 18 in De Dommel’s full 18-hole routing. That means a golfer on the modern course finishes on the same historic stretch that began the club’s story, while six later holes complete the newer western section.
