Overview: Stretching along Doughmore Bay in County Clare, this links course was originally designed by Greg Norman and later redesigned by Martin Hawtree. The layout is routed through towering sand dunes, playing on firm fescue turf with views of the Atlantic Ocean from nearly every hole.
History: Opened in 2002, the course underwent a significant redesign by Hawtree in 2015 to address coastal erosion issues and soften several of Norman's more controversial green complexes.
Did You Know? The par-3 14th hole plays directly over the beach to a green perched on a narrow sandy ridge, requiring an extremely precise iron shot into the prevailing wind.
