Overview: Finca Cortesin is an 18-hole Cabell B. Robinson parkland course on the Costa del Sol between Marbella and Gibraltar. The routing moves through a Mediterranean valley with elevation changes, water, more than 100 bunkers, and many planted species, demanding distance control and disciplined approaches.
History: The course opened in 2006 and was designed by Cabell B. Robinson, with landscape work by Gerald Huggan. It hosted the Volvo World Matchplay three times and the 2023 Solheim Cup. A 2017 upgrade replaced the putting surfaces with an environmentally friendly Bermuda grass variety.
Did You Know? Finca Cortesin's landscape uses around 20 varieties of flora, including native Mediterranean planting. The 2023 Solheim Cup was played on this course, and Europe retained the trophy after the match ended tied.
