Overview: De Gelpenberg is a heathland course located in Aalden. The layout is set on a rolling landscape, featuring fairways framed by heather, sand hazards, and clusters of trees. Strategically placed bunkers require careful placement of the drive to set up clear approach routes.
History: Designed by Frank Pennink and opened in 1970, the course originally featured nine holes before Donald Steel designed the expansion to eighteen holes. The layout was renovated in 2011 by Frank Pont to restore classic strategic values.
Did You Know? The club is situated on reclaimed heathland, and a continuous conservation program is underway to restore the original flora by clearing non-native pine trees and encouraging heather growth.
