Overview: Leopard Creek Country Club, situated on the southern border of the world-famous Kruger National Park in South Africa, is a spectacular championship parkland course designed by Gary Player. Winding through mature bushveld forests, the course is highly celebrated for its dramatic hazards and its unique "safari golf" experience. The layout features tight fairways, deep bunkering, and pristine lakes that host local wildlife, presenting a visually stunning and strategically demanding test of golf.
History: Opened in 1996, Leopard Creek was founded by prominent businessman Johann Rupert to offer the ultimate private, low-density luxury golf retreat in South Africa. Player took full advantage of the dramatic African bushveld terrain, routing the holes along the Crocodile River. It has proudly hosted the Alfred Dunhill Championship on the European Tour since 2004, cementing its status as a premier tournament venue.
Did You Know? The Crocodile River separates the spectacular par-5 13th green from Kruger National Park, and players regularly view wild elephants, hippos, and buffalo from the green. The water hazard below the green is famously home to a massive hippo named "Harry," who has become a beloved resident of the club.
