Overview: The Noord-Oost combination at Nunspeet offers a different flavor of forest golf, featuring some of the most dramatic water hazards on the property. The 'Noord' loop is particularly famous for its large ponds and challenging par-3s that require carries over water and sand. It’s a beautiful, high-stakes layout that rewards brave play but can quickly ruin a scorecard if you're not careful. The views through the pines are simply breathtaking.
History: The 27-hole facility at Het Rijk van Nunspeet opened at the end of the 1980s, with the North and East nines generally accepted as the premier 18-hole layout. The course was designed by Paul Rolin (1987) and Alan Rijks (1987), and is laid out within woodland to the south of the small market town of Nunspeet. It is one of four golf complexes in the Netherlands that operate under the banner of Het Rijk “The Empire”.
Did You Know? The course is such a haven for wildlife that it’s not uncommon to see wild boar or red deer crossing the fairways early in the morning. It’s as much a nature walk as it is a round of golf.
