Overview: Real Sociedad de Golf de Neguri is an 18-hole private course on Punta Galea near Bilbao. Javier Arana's design divides the round between cliff-top holes exposed to Cantabrian wind and sheltered fairways framed by maritime pine, with the course about 60 metres above sea level.
History: The society was founded in 1911 with an 11-hole course in Leioa. As the area developed, the club moved to Punta Galea, where the current 18-hole course opened in 1961 under Javier Arana's design. Limited weekday visitor access is available.
Did You Know? Neguri is effectively two landscapes in one round. The first nine is shaped by cliff-top exposure and sea wind, while the second is more wooded and relies on pines to define the line of play.
