Overview: The Vier Eijckenbaan at Golfbaan het Woold is an 18-hole, PAR-72 championship course that plays to 6,480 yards. Designed as a strategic layout, it requires the use of all clubs and is set on pure sandy soil across more than 80 hectares of former forest and heathland. The course is noted for its short walking distances between holes and is playable year-round.
History: The Vier Eijckenbaan was designed by ir. Han Wessels and officially opened on 1 July 2011. The course was carefully integrated into a varied Peel landscape of woodland, heath, and water, with the aim of restoring the area’s original nature from approximately 150 years ago. It is part of the larger Golfbaan het Woold estate, which also features the flood-lit Gezande PAR-3 course.
Did You Know? The course is built on a former tree nursery. When the course was designed, they kept as many of the original specimen trees as possible, giving this relatively new course the feel of a centuries-old estate.
